‘The Best Publications on Mountains’ 10th International Competition, Cracow 2025
In the framework of 28th International Book Fair in Cracow (Poland) in 2025 ‘THE BEST PUBLICATIONS ON MOUNTAINS’ 10TH INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION has been announced whose the organizers are The Central Mountain Tourism (COTG) PTTK in Cracow and ‘Karpaty’ Publisher – Andrzej Łączyński in Cracow and The Trade Ltd. in Cracow.
The publications submitted in any language about mountains from all continents and related to the mountains (geology, nature and its protection, history, monuments, ethnography and others), which appeared with the printed date of issue from 2021 (inclusive) may be submitted to the Competition. In case of multivolume publications ((publishing series, encyclopedias and others), the whole titles are admitted to the Competition, the first volume of which could have been published before 2021, and the last volumes from 2021.
This year Competition is open to albums, guidebooks, popular science publications, monographs, magazines, literary prose and poetry on mountain topics, maps, atlases and encyclopedias, dictionaries of names of towns, objects, nature or other mountain themes published in any language.
Participation in the Competition is free of charge for the publisher and does not require payment of the registration fee. 43 publishers from five countries (Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine) participated in the 9th Competition in 2024 and they submitted seventy-six publications. Among the winners or honorable mentions in the Competition were publishing houses from Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine.
We cordially invite you to participate in the Competition – the applications should be submitted to 19th September, 2025 (inclusive).
The day of 19 th September of the year in which the Competition is organized is the date in which the application forms and the copies of the submitted publications must be placed at the following address:

ORGANIZERS
In the nine editions of the Competition so far between 2016 and 2024, a total of 874 copies of compact, continuous and cartographic prints have been donated to the PTTK Central Mountain Library’s book collection, including 685 book titles, 44 copies of magazines and 145 map titles.
